I don’t mind sharing the sidewalk with skateboarders, or cyclists or dog walkers for that matter, as long as they act responsibly. It’s only a few skateboarders who cause problems by feeling they have the right to swerve in and out of groups of pedestrians at a high speed. Speaking of sharing the sidewalk, the same goes for the small number of irresponsible dog owners who think it’s a good idea to prance down Spring Garden at the busiest time of the day with their untrained, undisciplined pooch on a long leash running all over the place and forcing people to clear a wide path for them. If you are going to buy a dog you are responsible to train it – or at least avoid crowded sidewalks if you can’t or won’t.
