I’d like to send a big fuck you to a certain medical clinic:
You’re unprofessional! Your complete disregard and disrespect for patient time is shocking! Not only did you cancel 3 appointments with me in 1 week. Seriously, 3 times in 1 week!!!! Today, I didn’t even get to see the Dr. because you were running over an HOUR behind schedule.
I am also a health professional. I had to run out of the office in a hurry because I actually respect my client time and didn’t want to no show on my first treatment. So fuck you!!! I have better things to do. I will not be trusting you with my health care. you have no respect for me.
P.S you also cost me $$$$ because I had to take time off of work! —Still needs a Dr.

cost me $$$$ because I had to take time off of work! – I hear ya!!!
No shit, an appointment is an appointment and professionalism is……
What kind of doctor do you need?
I hear ya on the wait. I had to start booking the first appointment after lunch at my doc’s office because it’s at least a two hour wait otherwise, but oddly, the first appointment after lunch is always on time. Except when my doc was on sick leave and her replacement kept double booking and I had to wait 45 minutes because they decided to book a PAP during my appointment time (that I had booked three months in advance).
If I can’t get the first appt after lunch I’ll usually call ahead and see how far behind they are.
then you should go to the hospital, if you are missing the docs.or is it just for minor bullshit and they think that you are a hypo.?
I think most Dr’s offices are like this….anytime I call mine, there is a 50% chance she is on vacation for 3 weeks. Anytime I do get in there, I go in on-time and I sit there for at least an hour. Which I don’t get, because that particular office always asks you why you need the appointment before you book it, so they know how much time you need. Ahh well, thankfully I’m not old and/or sickly yet 🙂
You’re obviously going to the wrong clinic. Choose another one. Plenty keep popping up at grocery store locations and most are not busy mid-morning and around 4-6pm.
I don’t think health pros get any quicker service at the doctor’s office than the rest of us. Expecting otherwise seems a little presumptuous.
I don’t think OP expected special treatment, OL. I think she was just adding that to the bitch to say “I’m a health professional and I know how this shit works so what gives?”
The problem with my doc is that they only book 10 minutes for an appointment (didn’t 15 used to be the standard?) and more for a pap, but she always takes longer than that with her patients. While I don’t necessarily appreciate it while I’m waiting, I do appreciate not being rushed out when I’m in there. While she was on sick leave for a few months her replacement would rush you the eff out, which was annoying to say the least. And still, the wait times sucked.
I think a lot has to do with people just showing up and expecting to have their kid seen or something. My doc even commented on that once and said that people don’t realize that their office isn’t a walk in clinic. Once my dad couldn’t stay because he had another appointment and had to leave before he was seen. My doc saw me the next day and said that if that happens again to just tell the front desk and they’ll bump him ahead. I read an article on the BC health website that says the reason why doctors are so behind in their appointments times and why the waits are so high is because they don’t allow time to squeeze patients in who need to see a doc now and a program they’ve started which dedicates one or two days a week for same day walk ins or same day appointments has helped A LOT.
So, I’m not entirely sure that doctors are all assholes with no respect to their patients’ time.
