To the young PREGNANT lady who stands outside on South Park St. to smoke. Shame on you! In this day and age we all know what smoking does to unborn babies. Yet you shamelessly stand outside puffing away like it’s perfectly acceptable. How dare you.
And shame on you to the woman who smokes with her! You shouldn’t even be smoking around a pregnant woman let alone share a puff with her. Just because she has no common sense or concern for the health risks her baby may face , supporting her actions is just as ignorant. There is no excuse for what you are doing.

Oh, fuck off. My mother smoked and had four kids and we all made it past 50 as did most of my generation. Get your fucking long nose out of other people’s business.
Its my hot body Ill do what i want!
Did your mom drink too?
Oh, by the way, I smoked through my pregnancies and all my kids are nonsmokers and quite healthy so fuck you again.
You smokers keep defending one another. That’s so cute. So are your craggly faces, yellow teeth and fingers, and let’s not forget the best part, the perfume you waft. I guess the rest of us are wrong. Thanks for the clarity.
Hey, I quit five years ago, so blow it out your enormous ass.
There were many things that were done years ago, and kids turned out fine. And a lot DIDN’T. I’m sorry, but any dumbass who thinks it’s acceptable to smoke when carrying a baby is either to stupid to know anything, or too classless to fucking care. They’re probably the ones who think it’s fine to smoke around children and blow smoke in their faces.
You ooze class Tigger.
Yes smoking is bad for unborn babies, but want to know waht is worse? Quitting is worse is you go cold turkey as your body becomes stressed and this can damage a baby more so than the smoke itself. What one should do is when trying to get preggers quit, once preggers too late.
Non-smokers seem like such happy, upbeat, content people. And they should be, seeing as they’ve made a great personal choice for themselves. For themselves. For themselves. For themselves.Oh, shit, must have skipped there, sorry.
It’s not too late to quit smoking once a woman is pregnant, it requires a careful approach to manage the stress is all. Each cigarette diminishes blood flow to the placenta – and hence the fetus – for 10-15 minutes creating an oxygen deprivation situation and potentially stunting development. If smoking cessation were not of a greater benefit than continuation there wouldn’t be so many programs offered to pregnant women.
Just because a woman is pregnant doesn’t mean you have any right to butt in to their personal choices. Her body and whatever she may choose to put into it isn’t any of your business.
Umm, if you’re pregnant, I do not think you should smoke. I started smoking at a young age, and smoked a lot. But when I got pregnant, as soon as I found out I quit. When I was finished breast feeding, unfourtunately I started again. I just quit again in December, simply because I was tired of paying for it. With both my health and my money. But I don’t care either way whether someone chooses to smoke or not. But I don’t necessarily always agree with when and where they smoke. And pregnant women probably shouldn’t smoke. The risks are high enough, it’s a bad idea no matter how you look at it.
Holy shit get a grip. Stop looking if it bothers you that much. Get a freaking life while you’re at it.
OP…you don’t know this woman’s situation…I was pregnant and a smoker and was told by my Dr NOT to quit as it would cause withdrawl like symptoms for my un-born child. She told me to cut back by 10% a week!!My child was born healthy and is now 17 and has never had any lung/breathing problems….Guess my Dr knew what she was talking about!!We don’t know…this COULD be the same situation for this lady on South Park!
TTFN I usually agree with you. But you are wrong. I have cousins who have grown up with Asthma because their mother smoked while pregnant.By your logic, if I ran across flowing traffic once and didn’t get hit then everybody can do it and expect the same result. That is a very irresponsible attitude towards your children. They didn’t happen to have any problems, but how would you feel if your smoking did cause one of them to have problems for the rest of their life?I really think its not much to ask that if someone can get pregnant, they stop smoking for the nine months that it isn’t just their body. So the child won’t be affected their whole life. But also this makes me a hypocrit, as I think its a mother’s choice to abort or not.
Asking a loved one to quit smoking, no, that’s not too much to ask. Your doctor asking you to quit is fair as well. But asking a stranger on the street to quit smoking, yes, that is too much to ask.
As opposed to the smokers, forcing their unhealthy choices on their baby.On their baby.On their baby.On their unborn, vulnerable, choiceless baby. But yeah, no, your point is totally still relevant. Also, I’ve heard it’s possible to drive home drunk and not kill anyone, so I’ll be starting that up again soon… see you guys on the road!
It’s a shame that babies can’t speak for themselves. But, give them time, when they grow up I’m sure they too will speak for everyone else, turn, turn, turn, circle of life, etc..
It can, but not always. You’re leaving out the genetics factor.
It can, but not always. You’re leaving out the genetics factor.I referred to cancer, because it also applies to cancer. Smoking can cause these problems. It doesn’t mean that it doesn’t cause health problems. You’re fixated on the idea that smoking will cause healthproblems, period. It increases the risk for each of thesehealth problems. If it did cause health problems period, then every single person who smokes will get heart cancer, lung cancer, the other respiratory diseases that it causes. They all will become sexually impotent, contract a tumor, and won’t be able to perform in certain activities as wellas people who don’t smoke. I knew people who smokedand they were excellent athletes.
Babies could talk? That’d be annoying”Change my diaper, what do I have to do to get a bottle around here? stop blowing cigarette smoke in my face mommy, why do you keep hitting me? Why does daddy keep tying that belt around his arm, using a needle, then going to sleep? Whats that in my diaper? Why are my hands so small? And so on…
Some of you are arguing about the fact that one person smoked while being pregnant, and her kids turned out fine; while someone else smoked, and her kids did havehealth problems. It’s called genetics. Therefore, that argument is a mistrial. It also goes for those who smoke and get cancer, and thosewho smoke and don’t get cancer. It has been studied by medical professionals, and geneticshave an impact on the outcomes of the use of smokingtobacco. That is why the warning labels on the packssay ” ‘Can’ Cause Cancer”. Not everyone will get cancer, but not everyone won’t get cancer.OP: It’s none of your business if someone else is smokingwhile pregnant. It is not your body, and it is not your child.Sure, it risks the health of both the mother and child, butit’s not you and your child. For Your Information: People who smoke don’t always getyellow fingers and yellow teeth.
So you’re saying that smoking while pregnant does not affect your child? I never said cancer anyways, my cousins have asthma because of their mother. I for one is glad my mother didn’t decide to take away the ability to play sports all my life from me.
