“I’m spending my kids inheritance”
That’s a bumper sticker I read today. That’s fine, it’s your money, do what you want with it. However, it’s not really their inheritance if you’re spending it, it’s just money. My question is, did your parents spend your inherentance? And if so, did they rub your nose in it? The baby boomers love complaining about millenials. Well, we learned our selfishness from the best. The funny thing is, we’re not nearly as selfish or lazy as boomers and X’ers. It’s sad, but true. We are the generation that will have to change the way things are done. The rest of you can continue coasting and complaining. I know I generalized quite a bit there, i realize that life is shades of gray, however it’s hard not to generalize when all I hear from older generations is how lazy millenials are. —32 year old young feller

  1. You’re painting this picture in very broad strokes, OB. I am of boomer vintage and haven’t spent my kids’ inheritance if you can call a shack & three goats in Hillbilly Hollow an inheritance. Fortunately, they’ll have an endless supply of hot & cold running free-range lobsters. Unless the goats get them first.

  2. Its a fucking bumper sticker. Do you really think there is more than one “World’s Best Grandma”, too?

  3. if you are 32 i have news for you…you aren’t a millenial you are a gen x’er since Millenials are generally defined as being born in 1984 or later. welcome to the club!!!!

  4. A parent’s responsibility is to try to help their child develop into an adult that isn’t totally f’d up. That includes developing good character and encouraging them to get an education. If they can do that reasonably well they are a complete and utter success as parents. On the other hand, kids expecting to inherit large amounts of money is a sure recipe for mediocrity, if not utter failure as human beings. I’ve seen it happen and it ruins kids by taking away their ambition while they wait… and wait.. and hound their parents for cash to “help them out” in the meantime. So, nothing wrong with parents leaving a few bucks but they should feel free to enjoy themselves as much as they want once their young ones are grown. And the young ones should find a way to earn their own damn money!

  5. “Millennials are more fucking entitled then any generation on this godforsaken rock.”
