OK, people. For all of you that love to ask where or when the 52 is coming: Stop asking, get it through your thick skulls, let’s say it together: “THE 52 IS ALWAYS LATE!” So stop fucking asking, it’s always late and always gonna be. And for your information, it’s not the drivers, if you wanna get mad at someone about the 52 never being on time call the scheduling department at Metro Transit and tell them to put more buses on the 52 AND tell them that the articulated buses are just too slow for that particular route. Ninety percent of the reason why the 52 is late is because of those buses. So give them a call and bitch at them, they make the rules not the drivers. —52 is Always Gonna Be Late

  2. I’m just glad the GPS goTime is back up and running..
    I missed WAY more buses when it was reverted to ‘scheduled’ times.

    Why exactly are the articulated buses slower than the old, beat-down buses of yore?
    I used to take the 52 every week and never missed it once.
    I LIKE that it’s usually running a couple minutes late, in the event I am as well.

  3. goddamn o.p., you read my mind, the fucking 52 is always late, or never comes at all. sundays are the worst, they don’t show, and if you ask the next one in, where the other went, they look at you like you is nutso in the head.

  4. Meh.. maybe you get asked it constantly but for a lot of people, they may not normally take the 52 on a Sunday and thought maybe you had heard that it broke down, etc.
    Get it through your thick skull that part of your job is to answer questions from the public and sometimes they are repetitive or seem stupid to you, but you don’t need to be a dick about it.

  5. They’re asking when the bus will arrive not why it is late. There’s a difference there. If it’s five minutes late they’ll wait, if thirty minutes probably not. Their looking for accurate information so they can decide on their next course of action. It’s not their fault the bus is late.

  6. TF them asking a driver that is driving another route doesn’t help, that driver they are asking won’t know so why ask!

    The world would be a much MUCH better place if that shit can of a route didn’t exist.

  8. Hah. Yesterday… reached Bridge Terminal at 3:50, in time for the 3:55. Maybe it left early… That’s ok, ’cause I had given myself extra time, so I’d STILL make an appointment if I got the 4:15 bus. Didn’t come. At 4:30, a 52 Bayers Lake finally arrived. Together with a 2nd one. Where the hell were the 2 on the schedule for earlier? Who knows? Tell Metro Transit? That would get me a big “who cares?!” Because they don’t care. Complain all you like – they will change NOTHING. It doesn’t help that they plan out these routes at ridiculous hours when there’s no friggin’ traffic on the streets. Hell, you can drive from Mumford to the Bridge Terminal in just MINUTES at 3 a.m.! (Not so much, though, at RUSH HOUR!)

    which says it’s probably going up 7 cents… so figure that one out.

    Cars are rapidly becoming out of the average Nova Scotian’s reach…
    I guess that’s one way to promote public transit ridership.

  10. I take the 52 on a regular basis, the route I have a Virilent hate-on for is the 89 Bedford-Lacewood.

    that thing is the shits….

    my thought to METROtransit KILL THE THING!! just kill it off finally, quit just slowly cutiing its time to shit, & killing runs off it, KILL IT, PUT IT OUTTA ITS MISERY!!
    then take those runs, put them on the 52…..

    btw, you want to see nasty service, go live on the 54 Montebello!!

    while we’re on the subject of the lame duck that is the 52…

    Bus drivers have to depend on it too, to get from Metro Transit Burnside HQ to Bridge Terminal or Mumford… they see the crap service too & experience it..
    when calling 490-4000 ask for the email of the head of customer service or the scheduling department…
    or as I have done..
    GO TO BURNSIDE MT HQ, got have a crap on their heads!!
