To all of you customers who take the time to ask the employees how their day has been, or make casual small talk or who are even just polite and use please, thank you etc: WE APPRECIATE YOU.
I’m being 100% honest when I say that when a customer tells me to have a good day, or says thank you, or even just shows a tinge of personality, you actually make my day that much better. —Please & thank you

As a customer, it makes MY day when cute females working at retail stores and cafes flirt with me. Like the cutie who made my cappuccino today and topped it off with a little foamy heart, then said she hoped to see me again. Baby you bet you’ll be seeing me again! Even makes you’re over-priced yuppy coffee worth it.
I like when my tea comes with a happy face on the lid 🙂 and I love when the person making my latté chats it up with me. I love all nice people!
Its soooo easy to do, I don’t know why everyone does’nt do it!
Its slooo easy to do, I don’t know why everyone does not do it!!
And it pays dividends. The nature of the store and the job allows me to duke favorite regulars a little extra discount from time to time.
i get in trouble for that ivan…from t’other boss, but only a wee bit^^
I always say thank you and let them know if they gave me wrong (too much) change too. In another city, I used to frequent this small store that sold yummy waffles and one day the owner gave me too much in change. I noticed it only the next day, but I went back to give the change back. It wasn’t much (less than $3) but the owner of the store appreciated it so much she gave me some on the house from time to time. 🙂
I’m a cashier and I agree with everything except the small talk, but that’s just because I can’t talk and work at the same time.
Here’s my slant. When it’s legitimate, it’s great. When it’s forced, phony, or feeding an agenda, total blah.
i remember the “have a nice day” shtick…me ma didn’t care for that phony baloney, tho she does enjoy the odd newfie steak…sorry oceanchick. screee
your ma wasn’t a mick foley fan?
shame…
Common courtesies and politeness seems to be a rare commodity. I ALWAYS say please and thank you. I help open doors for people – or hold them open when someone is approaching. People are SO selfish nowadays, and it’s so terribly sad. Why can’t people just be nice? Why do they have to be a complete bitch or asshole for no reason at all?
naw zZz she wouldn’t know who that was…m. borderline, keep on being polite tis very infectious…’ceptin for t’other realm^^^
I love scotch. Scotchy, scotch, scotch.
Here it goes down, down into my belly…
mmm johnny walker all rox’d up
Mmmmmm… scotch….
Amen! Simply thank yous go a long way when you deal with assholes all day long. thanks for making life bearable <3.
