  1. We’re talking about an outfit that blames power failures on ‘salty fog’ – what can you really expect from those nimrods?

  2. One of the worst moves the province ever made was to privatize NS Power. A private corporation providing an essential service, with a monopoly on that service, and no accountability to the public? Who the hell thought that was a good idea? It’s time for the monopoly to end. I propose a pettition. Maybe even a boycott of some kind.

  3. Well, I seem to recall that the deal took place toward the end of the Buchannan administration…

  4. I also heard, since the power went off around midnight, that NS Power didn’t even put crews on till about 7 am or so! I woke up to a freezing house! Thankfully my kids daycare was open and had power so I could go to work and we could both be warm! I really feel sorry for the folks who had no choice but had to stay home and freeze all for NS Power trying to save OT costs!!! Geeeez!

  5. Regardless of the administration in power, the governments within the province of Nova Scotia are laughable at best, I say this of all levels. I have watched news reports on politicians in Cape Breton being walked into court for fighting, and when your politician has a nickname like “Duker” how much professionalism can you expect. I can only imagine how many of the politicians in the province are shareholders of Nova Scotia Power. With reference to NS power, I would bet the farm that not one positive comment will hit this site or any public forum available for people to comment. I have to say that with reference to doing business, perhaps NS power should get into the business of publishing they could write a great book on how not to treat your customers, how to play the spin game, and how to overpay upper management for work that is just not being done. I encourage all of you out there to stop calling them as they could care less about the situation…start calling your Federal member of parliament. After all, NS power is private, and as we all know, it’s not the customer base a private company cares about…..It’s the almighty shareholder.
