I am from NS and moved to Ottawa only to realise my class 5D (regular + moped) NS license is not a class G ML (regular + moped) Ontario license. In NS you can get a D endorsement on your class 5 licence that allows you to drive a motorcycle with an engine of 100cc or less. In Ontario, that would be a ML licence, meaning Motorcycle Limited speed.
Once exchanging the license here though, the person told me they have no equivalent to a NS class 5D, and I have to start the process all over again. No thank you. There is a reciprocal agreement between Ontario and the provinces of SK, QC, NB, and PEI for moped licensing, but not NS.
HOWEVER, according to the NS DMV, I am able to switch my (non-existent) Ontario moped license over to a NS moped license. This doesn’t sound like a reciprocal agreement at all.

Most motorcycle schools have these bikes, so you don’t have to buy a larger bike than your pussy moped.
Obviously Ontarible has a more stringent law, pertaining to Motorized Pedal bikes.
and as always, the more stringent rule applies…. therefore, ontarible to NS, ok but NS to ON not ok, NS simply doesn’t have the standard of licence that ON has.

Cumonalready: It isn’t a motorized pedal bike, it has an engine without pedals. It isn’t about stringent rules that Onterrible has. The NS licence should transfer no problem to ON, and NOT the other way around, if anything.
This is because in NS, our moped license is up to 100cc, but in ON it’s only 50cc. So the person moving from ON to NS who is trained up to a 50cc engine MAX now suddenly can drive a 100cc?!
In my case, I’m qualified up to 100cc and have driven 250cc before, but have to accept a downgrade to 50cc. Doable. Not to mention my bike meets their requirements, because I have a 50cc scooter.

I need to get my moped inspected here before I do anything, but to get it inspected I need my licence to drive it legally…
…but to get a licence I need to take a test…
…which requires me to get the damn thing to the test centre…
…which requires me to have insurance, registration, and permit…
…which requires me to have a ON licence…
and ON AND ON AND FUCKING ON.
I did this in NS.
