It is a good step that a black man has been named president of the United States. It is exciting that the New Democrats are finally in power of the USA again.
But I want to remind our country of CANADA, that although this news affects us, Obama is not our president. The United States is NOT our country, and maybe it’s time we finally started to give a shit about the problems we’re having, and pay attention to our government.
Missing being a proud Canadian.

New Democrats?
I kind of agree…I think it’s an incredible moment in history; I think he’s one of the most inspiring politicians I’ve ever seen; but the tendency of people to go all doe-eyed over him and put him on a pedestal just makes me feel a bit odd, in an undefined way. It seems to bear some relation to the way I feel when I hear people declare “thank fuck, now racism is over, blah MLK something blah.”
