why is it that every time I go into a place to order food the cashiers and food service workers can’t seem to keep their hands off their eyes, nose, face, hair, out of their mouth or all of the above. makes a bad impression on customers. I’ve actually walked away a few times.

  1. What I find worse than that are women (everywhere) who have drabs of polish on their nails. Either paint them or take it off.

  2. At starbucks you’re not allowed to wear nail polish at all when you’re working in case it chips and you get some in the customer’s drink/food.

They even keep nail polish on hand for those who “forget.”

Thought that was a great customer-minded policy, actually. Too bad more food service/grocery places don’t have this policy.

  3. I stopped eating at my favorite asian restaurant after my neighbour got a job there. She noted the cook rinsing his teeth off under the tap with a colander full of noodles draining right beneath it. And, she also noted that they took the half pineapples (that were used as bowls) off the dirty plates, rinse them and then set them on a shelf to dry so they could use them again. So, what you see is only the tip of the iceberg. On the other hand, I rarely get sick, so whatever is done in restaurants, it doesn’t seem to impact me much. But still, the thought of it is so disgusting.
