Everything seems to be up and running, but the bitch submission process has a kink or two to work through yet. We’re working on it. It might get fixed today, but if not, Monday, first thing.

I apologize for the delays, and appreciate your patience.

I think, tho, that you can use the comment thread on this post to bitch at The Coast for sucky new website design, or whatever.

  1. Holy smokes! All the posts for the last 3 days are gone! All of my intelligent comments (can you tell I’m being facetious?) are gone! But seriously though, this new format looks nice, and loads a lot quicker. Good work!

  2. Yeah, what TTFN said. So far, so good IMO.

For those who haven’t noticed yet, you have to re-register your user accounts in order to comment.

  3. Yeah that’s the only hiccup I’ve seen so far. Kinda a pain, but it only takes a sec and you don’t have to go thru the email verification anymore… nice and simple.

  4. Thanks all. I’m pretty sure the three days of missing bitches will come back, once we get this fixed.

It’s evidently more complicated getting things up and running than I was led to believe. Appreciate your patience.

  5. I’ll pass that along. I imagine longer comments look fine. Not that I’m encouraging longer comments…

  6. It looks better now that the landing spot is the news page and not the classifieds like last night. And are you the only one who can post a NEW bitch right now? I had one all ready to go last night, I had already re-registered and logged in, and then I get some kind of weird Windows authorization screen that stopped me dead.

  7. Just kidding, alas.

Whatever problems you had last night are now fixed, I believe. Everything should be fine on your end; it’s at my end where the problem is.

Just as soon as it’s fixed, I’ll post something here, or in a new post. Again, appreciate your patience.

  8. Still can’t post a NEW bitch, smartypants. I get a popup that is titled Authentication Required and this text:

“A username and password are being requested by http://thecoast.foundation.gyrobase.com. The site says: “The Coast (Admin)””

Entering my login and password does not convince it to go away.

Also: when entering comments like this one, it would sure be nice to have the site remember my login and keep me logged in over a day or more like the old one did. You have to log in every time you visit. The site currently will let you write a comment, but then you can’t post it because it wants you to log in and makes you lose what you just typed.

  9. I’m passing your complaint on.

The problem is I’m not getting your posting, and that we’re aware of. The geeks evidently have things to do on the weekend, I dunno, Star Trek conventions or something. I’m waiting to hear back.

  10. I’ll give them a Star Trek Convention… meh. Looks like we’ll need to bottle up our anger for the next few days. Therapy session, here I come! At least I can comment on on the food and movies, that’s good news. All on account of your villainy, you brigand!

  11. Hoo-boy: here’s a new one. I left a 2-star review for The Carleton in the restaurants section. I was browsing the site afterwards and saw a link to click on for Dahmnait Doyle, the singer. There were 2 stars next to her name. I was curious as to who would give the estimable Ms. Doyle only 2 stars. Imagine my surprise when I saw it was me — because she had played the Carleton once, somehow my 2-star restaurant review translates to a 2-star review of her!!! WHAT???? What kind of bizarro database design is that? Tell the geeks to read Technology Rule #37: just because the technology lets you do something, that doesn’t mean you should do it. This sort of relationship is about as stupid as it gets.

  12. I kinda wish that the bitcher’s names were a bit bigger or more noticable. But otherwise, very nice.

  13. Just back from TrekCon 2009. I’ll deal w the tech problems later. Too much merch to play with.

Keith — the two stars in the D. Doyle event appear under the Carleton’s name and address, so it refers to the place, not the event. Although, as they are the only stars present in the event, I can see why someone might think they refer to Doyle herself.

Thanks anyway — it’s the kind design/presentation/workability stuff we need to hear. Keep up the critiques – what you like and what you don’t like, people!

  14. Clicking on the link for the post should bring you right to the comments and the post together; like before. The new window idea is nice, but it clutters the screen.
