Tell me, this coffee establishment so dearly loved by Canadians: Why is it that when I bring a re-usable mug you fill your own cup to transfer to mine only to go ahead and throw it away? The whole reason I brought mine was to avoid yours going into the landfill! Honestly, if other coffee establishments don’t have a problem with filling my mug up directly, why don’t you? From now on I’m going to take my mug elsewhere and enjoy their coffee.

  1. Contact the head office of the coffee chain to ask them about their policy and whether they can better accommodate reusable cups. I’d doubt they will see your post here and take action. I suspect the franchises currently use the disposable cup to measure the size you are getting and determine how much to charge you. It doesn’t excuse it though. There must be a better way for the purveyor to dole out their ground up beans in hot water to people who come bearing their own vessels.

  2. Why can’t they just use similar dispensers they have at the movie theaters for pop? They dispense the exact amount right into the cup whether it be overpriced, diabetes inducing small, medium, or large.

  3. This has happened to me so many times!
What I now do, even though it should be a given whatever way you word it, I say how many ounces my cup is. 12/16/20 ounce . They just filler.

  4. In addition to ranting here I did contact the company directly to bring this issue to their attention and they assured me it is their policy to fill travel mugs without wasting a paper cup. I was told to speak to the store manager the next time. And so the world (sort of) makes sense again.
