My doctor put in a request for an MRI in October 2016. I just got the good news…I have an appointment for March 2018, in Kentville because HALIFAX is too busy. I might be dying, please send the bill to my estate.

  1. if your MRI is urgent your doctor could have and should have expedited it. if your case is more pressing than routine MRIs the technicians and staff should be notified of the urgency so they can take appropriate action.

  2. In order to get your MRI date moved up you need to go back time and time again to your GP or specialist and complain your symptoms are worse. Otherwise its deemed routine and you’ll need to wait.
I also don’t recommend going to Kentville or anywhere else for it, they say it cuts down the wait time but the 2 I’ve had in the past few years have been here in Hfx and only took a month or so to get in even though the wait time list looks horrible here in Hfx its actually not.

  3. I agree that our free healthcare system is far from perfect but I am a little curious about one thing.
How many times in the last EIGHT months did you call to follow up to find out when you would get your MRI?

I find it amazing how people won’t wait four minutes for their Big Mac value meal without raising a big stink about it, but are happy to sit and wait and blame everyone else when it comes to their own health.

Go to the US and join the masses fighting and begging for what we have, you idiot. Just because your hypochondriac ass goes to the doctor and demand an MRI because Dr. google told you you need one, is a luxury that most of the world doesn’t have, but feel free to complain anyway.

My father had kidney stones two weeks ago, he went to the emergency, had an MRI the next day, and the day after that, surgery. Yeah, goes to show how urgent your situation is doesn’t it. If you need one right away, you get one. You clearly don’t, so shut the fuck up and wait like the rest of the self diagnosing twats that think they know better than their fucking doctor. You are what’s wrong with the system, forcing the hands of doctors because you actually believe that you are some sort of customer and medical procedures are a commodity you have a “right” to have RIGHT NOW. Sorry, Toots, your aren’t going to die, and nobody cares about your manic bullshit!!!
