Saying I want to make new friends is like saying I want to make banana muffins and then sitting back, waiting for the muffins to magically appear. Invite someone you want to know better: A) to go on  a FREE gallery crawl—there’s lots of free art to explore in Halifax and art stimulates conversation. Or B) to come to your home for a spaghetti dinner – cheap and most people love it. Or C) to go on a hike at/on one of the many parks/trails around Halifax. The key words here are “invite someone”. There are plenty of inexpensive or free ways of getting to know people but you’ve got to put yourself out there and take the initiative, all you wallflowers. —XOXOX From An Old But Active Lady With Lots Of Friends

  1. YEAH BUT WHAT IF THEY SAY NO? No… no, I think I’ll just wait here until someone invites ME out. And then I will make up an excuse not to go so they don’t have a chance to dislike me.

    Yeah, that works.

  2. I’ve always liked the Wallflowers….One Headlight, Everybody out the Water, Reboot the Mission etc

  3. love that song. one headlight. i had to hum/mumble it to 10 genX music store staff before one of them finally figured out what song the old bat was trying to sing.
