Thanks to the police officer on College Street Thursday afternoon who, when I fell on the street in front of his police car couldn’t even bother to roll down the window and ask if I was OK. Common decency, let alone the fact that you are a police officer meant to “serve and protect” would have been a little more appropriate! By the way my ankle is fractured, thanks! —Angela

Tip: learn to walk.
Oh wait…..was this song playing when the OP tripped up:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=IWIJy3AJ84k
If not, maybe the OP should follow the instructions in the song.
Prioroties, priorities…the cop probably had tickets to write.
yeah, he could have done that, but then he would have been late getting to his break at timmies.
The harvesters and delivery boys protecting anyone? No, not their job. I’d go with Securitas or the Angels. (they’re back) Both are considerably more picky about their manpower.
I agree with Sebastian, learn to walk.
Are you sure you weren’t tripped by an agent provocateur. No doubt the officer ignored your deliberate flouting of the laws of gravity in favor of suspending the civil liberties of a bunch of innocent bystanders who were singing “Give Peace A Chance”
All will be revealed by the “Independent Inquiry”
You fell on the street in front of his police car! Of course he didn’t bother to roll down the window as he was busy trying to avoid running over your sorry ass.
Somehow you must think your fractured ankle is the fault of the officer. Get fucked!
Osteoporosis?
koda: somehow you must think your fractured heart is the fault of the OP. Get fucked!
wow. i’m angry.
yea jeesh some of you people are cold ass beeatches 🙂
Do you expect the fire department to respond to you if you get a sunburn or burn yourself on your oven?
Wow. This is a completely valid bitch and you dumb fucks don’t even get it. When the OP said they fell down in front of a cop car, they didn’t mean right in front of the front bumper as Koda the dumbass seems to think. A citizen breaks their ankle right in front of a peace officer and they do nothing to help. That’s just fucked. I hope the cop gets it back in spades.
wow…. i am beginning to wonder where the validity of the comments being posted has gone? People will be reading through this wondering why the Coast forums have become a gathering place for a bunch of shmucks. OP- i think your bitch is valid. I think the civil duties of the police should not be refined to simply protecting the citizens of this fine city against criminals/recklooses. They should also protect people against themselves and, well, the streets (sorry- a little silly, yes…..) As for all those who graciously offered their advice that you learn to walk…. don’t worry, it won’t be long before their own legs turn against them and they fall down in front of what will hopefully be worse than a cop who simply ignores.
lotta hate goin on…i would have helped you op…jonno is zZz otay?
Pfft. Cry babies.
yeah PG- the zee-man is fine. Just had 3 days of vacation and he NEVER posts after business hours… LOL.
he’ll be back tomorrow.
what the fuck, not one mention of this fucky karma coming to bite them or some stupid shit?
sorry for prying jonno…you know how i worry about some of our resident inmates^^
not prying PG….. we are all part of one big fucked-up disfunctional family after all 🙂
Karma tried but she got locked up.
grrrr
The logic of the OP must equate to calling 9/11 for stubbing a toe even.
My god some of you people are fucking morons. You idiots are essentially saying that if you were shot right in front of an ambulance, that they shouldn’t help you. You cannot deny it. I hope each and every last one of you fall flat on your face, break your nose and teeth, split your lip wide open and go blind in one eye, right in front of the hospital, so they can tell you “learn to walk why don’t you?”.
Being shot is a crime and you can die from it, NW. Falling over is as common as farting.
falling over and fracturing your ankle isn’t, though, NGF. Common decency dictates that your average person would at least say “hey, you ok?” and the HRP’s mission to protect and serve dictates that should at the minimum do the same.
Is it possible the officer was responding to a call elsewhere that took priority over someone falling over? People fall over or lose balance all the time.
There’s no honus on society or the average person to be up in arms and verifying if someone is okay. Plus I’m sure the cop didn’t know the OP fractured anything.
Then again… I have seen people assaulted on sidewalks in front of cops while the cops did nothing.
We should stay out of incidents where people are being swarmed or abused but should jump in whenever someone falls over? Sure. Elderly or handicapped I can agree with but a healthy person who just falls over and expects everyone within the immediate vicinity to fawn over them sounds like a baby to me.
jonno,
I too wonder where the validity of the comments being posted has gone … the Coast forums have become a gathering place for a bunch of shmucks.
Couldn’t have said it better myself.
