Moved here from Toronto last year and my one bitch about Halifax is this whole “I love local” crap i see on some stores around here.. Like wtf all you sell is over priced chinese made crap that sells for like 5 dollars in Toronto yet here… you put a “I love local” sticker on it and sell it for 30 bucks.

you might be right op. But i’d love to hear some examples of this. If it’s something generic enough, there is no saying it’s not made locally and is just the same sort of good.
Oh, don’t dis the I*heart*Local thing, its what makes us unique.
No worries OB. The real Haligonians amongst us recognize the nonsense.
I LIKE the fact that you used LIKE twice in your uptown one paragraph bitch, LIKE, really?
The only things local that I adore are scotts skins and propeller.
The whole thing’s just a re-hash of the old “Atlantic Canada Plus” campaign, anyway. You want an example, though? There’s a Korean-made Hyundai regularly parked on upper Agricola with an “I <3 Local" sticker on the trunk, right under the (H) logo. Cracks me dafuq up every time I see it.
It’s very true. And most people only like to “support local” when it’s their friends/people they want to impress
Damn it… forgot about fox hill cheese house too.
