I am a cashier at a store in Halifax. Today we were collecting donations for the Bahor family, a Syrian family whose seven children died in a tragic fire earlier this month. I was so happy that people readily opened their hearts and their wallets to make a donation on behalf of the family, including a young boy who gave $1 from his pocket money because he wanted to do something for them. What I did find disheartening was the one woman who instead of just saying “No thanks” or “Not today” replied that unless she was given a tax receipt for her $2 donation, she was not interested in donating to the family. What a heartless bitch. Thank you to all the kind people who took the time to donate to this poor family today.

Wow, I read that whole thing to read the “heartless” punchline, but it never came. Old lady just trying to save a buck, big deal.
It has absolutely nothing to do about what the donation is for. The fact that she inquired about the tax receipt means she was interested in donating to the family just not on your companies behalf. Imagine that.
Nice going at refusing a donation . This post should have been titled ” How to judge 101 ” . Faak you care she wants a receipt? , you turned down a dollar by judgement …. whos better?
