Wow! So here I am living in Nova Scotia, without a shovel. LOL. I’m used to living in apartment blocks without the need to do any of my own shovelling, but I moved into a flat last fall and didn’t buy a shovel. So far this winter has been grand for the shovel-less. Until the other night. Lo-and-behold, I walk out my door in the morning to go to work (expecting to have to walk through 3-4 foot snow banks), and to my surprise it appears my neighbours actually shovelled a nice walkway to my steps from our shared driveway. So kind! I said I owe you a few beers and I really mean it. Thanks so much! —Very Thankful neighbour in Dartmouth

  1. Wow! What wonderful neighbours!

We had a neighbour in the valley who would do that for us when we weren’t up as early as he was! We always made sure he and his wife got some special treats for their kindness (the wife would also call us if anything blew off our clothesline when we had one — they were FABULOUS neighbours!).

  2. It’s lucky for you they did since the Canadian-store-that-sells-tires has removed all snow shovels off the shelves and has replaced them with hoses and garden implements!

You have no choice but to beg, borrow or steal a shovel, ’cause they won’t sell you one. We are smack dab in the depth of winter! Those fucking idiots!

Opps, I’m in the LOVE column, sorry; I meant to say ‘those silly sausages!’

  3. Really Brenda? So I suppose you grab a beer from the fridge from your man sitting down on the couch demanding to be waited on hand and foot. Because that’s the same kind of stereotyped sexism you are expressing right now.

  4. Angel, don’t be silly.
She’s too busy with laundry and housework to fetch beer.
That’s why he has a beer fridge beside the couch.
    obviously…

  5. but your hands are smaller than mine and more suited for doing dishes…
and you’re shorter so you’re more suited for mopping the floors too….

Just look how lucky you are!
