The only thing I hate more than telemarketers calling my work is salespeople showing up to do a spiel. You came to my work the other day wanting to try to sell my boss something (probably a scam). She said she was too busy which I politely relayed to you. You then snorted derisively at me and stomped off. You’ll go really far with that attitude. Oh and by the way, just because you bought something in our establishment doesn’t mean my employer is obligated to listen to your spiel. You gave me money and I gave you something for it. End of story. —Counter Lady

  1. The cold call carpetbagger style sales types are still around in the business world, huh? Amazing, that they still survive in these high tech times. As we used to say to them in the past – ‘there is the exit door, use it’.

  2. So that is their ploy now – buying something to attempt to soften you up. Long as they buy something big. Could be interesting at some businesses. Thanks for the info.P.G.

  3. we can usually tell after a few minutes and lately it tends to be folks selling services. pos machines, insurance, advertising…

  4. oh hey…
    that reminds me…
let me know if you’re looking to advertise.
    I could use the commission.

  5. “You gave me money and I gave you something for it.” Did you work for Ada MacAllum back in the day?
