I see the amazing amount of greed and capitalism almost everywhere I turn. I work for what I have and I guess I am part of the system. I buy local, try to find Made in Canada labels, but am not naive to think this will change the world, it only makes a small difference and that’s my fair part. What bothers me the most is the complete and total exploitation of those that are far less fortunate. I just find it odd that multi-million dollar merchant fleet firms can operate on North American soil (excluding Mexico right now) and every ship sails under another country’s flag. All of the profits get funnelled back to wonderfully developed countries while the crew operates a sweatshop of the seas and adheres to the lax laws and tax regulations of their native country. Most recently a tugboat crew that was detained because of our standard of living, now the crew is stranded and yet their shipping firm has a registration and headquarters in a first world country and they have no comment or funds for their stranded crew? I’m disgusted by the fact that even land locked countries have a larger merchant fleet than we do. Slavery exists from the start to the very end I guess, on that note, how much is minimum wage now? — A Contradiction With An Opinion

“tugboat”
“While 2 guys are docking, a 3rd male or female uses one hand to jerk both off at the same time”-urban dictionary
LOL, I knew it would be there. Urban dictionary? Is there anything you can’t dirty up?
Move to Iceland?
“While 2 guys are docking”
How does one “dock” exactly?
WAIT! No! Nevermind. Forget I asked. I don’t want to know the answer. *shudder*
Hey Harper, in keeping with the nautical theme, look up “Dutch Rudder” lol
Those freaky-deeky Dutch!
I certainly hope you didn’t submit this on (or even own) an iPhone…
Do people being paid minimum wage view themselves as slaves? If so then get the fuck outta here with that ass-sucking bullshit! The simple fact that you, an employee, are earning a pay cheque and comparing yourself to someone who is subjugated and unpaid demonstrates your lazy sense of entitlement and narcissism. Again, get the fuck outta here with that shit.
If earning $10.15 an hour is so bad, then let Ivan tie your hands above your head while SHITD lashes you with a vinegar-dipped whip to the sounds of BroTim calling you ‘Toby’. Fuck sakes, you probably work in a convenience store selling smokes and it’s not like you picked the tobacco and dried the shit yourself. Damn, man, even Cleo can jockey a fucking cash register and be happy she gets $10.00 an hour to buy Fancy Feast and Tempations
The biggest cunts and crybabies who whine over minimum wage are idiots who have no education, no skill set, no trade and no ambition yet somehow feel that they deserve to earn as much as a professional who has paid his/her dues and earned their position in life.
Minimum wage being on par with slavery is like Giorigo Tsoulakis having a bald head without the shit-eater grin.
Speaking of slavery, has anyone seen Bojangles, Unchained?
Nobody, but nobody, can choreograph a tap number like Tarantino.
I quite enjoyed it, Ivanski. The soundtrack is phenomenal.

Iron Biscuit, I agree with your point that comparing slavery to earning minimum wage is really reaching quite far and an insult to those who have actually been and are being enslaved. However, I also think that there is another form (lesser) form of slavery, related to owing debt, be in national or personal. Because the only way to clear this inflatable debt is to sell your time for money by working. In this way you become a commodity. You have the free choice to chose where you work but unless you are a property owner or the owner of a means of production, you will have to sell yourself to someone who is. Is this “slavery” the way we have come to know it? Absolutely not. But it is a form of control at least.
Also, I’m really not a ‘hippy’ ‘protester’ or whatever else. I just watched zitegeist (spelling?) and thought it was smart.
The squalor and abuse under which some have to endure as “employment” is shocking OP. Hard to ignore when it lands right on our shores. The complete lack of regard for people, their health and safety or happiness shows the attitude of employers in the absence of trade unions.
So I must be a form of slave for financing a hybrid automobile.
Hey, Ivan, free (and harmless) tobacco all around! Now if I could get my hands stuck in a couple vending machines…
OB …while I buy as local as I can . WITH ‘My Main Never Forgotten Goal’ with all purchases is to ensure I not to buy anything made in Cheena !
WHich is often not only difficult, but in some goods impossible.
I had the second collander my girlfriend has purchased in less than 2 years let go with a full pot of pasta splash into the sink, last week.
THose cheap plastic cheena made garbage strainers aren’t even worth the dollar or 2 she paid for them !
I went looking for a metal one (like the 60 year old one my Mum & dad own, its older than I am & still works great)
Everywhere I could find metal ones …. made in Cheena !
I finally found one made in India. But what I found with several others is they said “designed in Canada” with a Quebec Designated company & another “Designed in the USA” & an American State named …but in tiny little letters (often covered by the price tag) it says ‘made in Cheena or Made in PRC ….
So you gotta be vigilant if you are attempting to buy local or in my case boycott a particular place.
& as I’ve learned in Patio Furniture the last 2 summers except for local wooden chairs & tables …Cheena’s got that product line sewed up solid !
The only thing you should buy local is the pussy.
Why buy it when you can rent it ?
Renting or buying pussy? Try the barter system.
Or if you’re a real cheap cunt move to India and show them Hindoo ladies just what a hot date you can be….
Just to clarify. I’m not trying to trivialize or mock the current social issues in India that we have received a shock education in during the last couple of weeks. It seems to me that if you reduce the love act to a commodity, to be bought and sold, you risk turning it also into something to be stolen. Just my opinion and yet another reason why I’m everlastingly glad to be married and monogamous. Find your own paths
I’m disgusted by the fact that the “cheese” on my mini pizzas doesn’t melt after baking for 20 minutes. There’s also no mention of mozzarella cheese in the ingredients, but it does list potato-starch and a bunch of shit I can’t pronounce. Fuck you pilsbury!
