Thank you to the woman eating a steak in the restaurant I visited last night. The fact that you were not afraid to order a steak on a date not only promotes healthy body image and confidence, but allowed me to feel more comfortable ordering what I wanted to eat rather than a salad out of fear that I may be perceived as less feminine. —Steak and Potatoes Girl

  1. uuuummmmmm steak is right. Steak Oscar from the Keg…with a side loaded potato…and the beautiful goat cheeses bruchetta to start. I’m starving…and I just ate.
Also I’ve never ordered a salad on a date. Maybe a chicken Cesar salad…once.

  2. maybe we should put a kibosh on the food chat, chickiemom is gonna short out her keyboard with drool^^^

  3. hope you have insurance on that keyboard like PK does 🙂

Ya, there was lots of food chat yesterday – so fun. They had top sirloin on at Pete’s right after mew years. Made some filet mignon with a mushroom sauce on top for the boy and I. yum, yum.

  4. considering, calorie-wise, protein and carbs have the same amount per gram, there’s no disadvantage to having steak over.. say.. pasta or salad. Assuming of course that you’re going to eat the same amount of food that sitting regardless of what it is… and that you don’t chow down too much on the highly prevalent, saturated, animal fat.

Now, since protein requires more energy to digest… breaking up the long chained amino acids, it’s actually MORE beneficial to eat meat if you’re looking for a “healthy body image”.

    you’ll be leaner, stronger
and you’ll be able to last longer.

what more encouragement could you need?

  5. I was going to make a beautiful chicken Alfredo pasta tomorrow with mushrooms and peppers….but I believe I will now be having steak…with a side of asparagus and double stuffed potatoes.
The great thing about my pregnancy is I’m not having a lot of craving at night. I’m almost 20 weeks and I’ve only put on 9 lbs which is awesome…cause I gained 70 lbs last time. Anyway…I’m only craving home cooked good food…no fast food…no grease…just steak and pastas, and salads and stuff.

  6. My best first date was at Mic Mac Bar & grill. The food had nothing to do with it though. But I do like the food there. Just hard as heck to get a table!

  7. My daughter call me into the bathroom because her son’s poop was neon green–she thought he had been exposed with nuclear fallout or something…
    close…
she had let him drink a whole bottle of blue gatorade.

  8. and here I thought I had nothing to do this friday night…
turns out I’m drinking blue gatorade to excess.
    🙂
