I took one day off, ONE, in the last five months to recover from a panic attack and deal with my anxiety disorder and I was fired for it. I have been an excellent employee, going as far to work unpaid time to help the owners out.
Employers in the city need to start understanding that mental health is just as serious as any illness or disability and should be treated as such.

Your employer can’t legally fire you.for that reason. If they had no other grounds by which to fire you, you have a legitimate lawsuit. I’d take it to a lawyer.
If you can prove your employer fired you for this reason, Agra Phol is absolutely right, seek legal advice and file suit if possible. Most employers are understanding and wouldn’t fire somebody for a thing like that. It helps nobody.

Speaking as somebody who’s had this exact scenario happen to them… honestly, take that shit in stride. they aren’t the type of people you want to work for anyways. karmas a bitch. the employer who did that to me, is now importing workers from out of province. and i can assure you in my feild of work there are people looking for a job. just not with them.
It took me two years to get about 50% of my banked pay back and the headaches werent worth it.
