So a downtown Halifax trendy boutique now has a “shop dog” wandering at will? Very cute, yes, but please be mindful some people have health issues that are animal-triggered (allergies, asthma, hives)—also not very sanitary considering the crap outside that dogs walk through and then track through your store—ewww! —I just wanna shop in peace

  1. There’s many a man (and woman) alive, of no more value than a dead dog. And a great many dogs who’ve more right to be out in public than most people.
Find some other “dispensary” for your “medicine” if dogs freak you out that much.

  2. PTSD customers & their doggies in most retail stores will soon be the norm if they aren’t already. Better get used to it, bucko, it’s a changing world.

  3. If nobody says anything nothing changes. You should contact the shop and let them know why you think it’s a bad idea to have an animal running around. It’s then up to them to decide how to process that information.

  4. I asked a homeless guy why his dog only had three legs.

He said: “You’re not gonna eat a good dog like that all at once…”

  5. Do you take your shoes off when you step inside a store? No? Then you’re tracking in the same shit the dog is. If your allergic don’t touch it. Chances are it’s not rubbing itself around all the merchandise.

  6. Go fuck your allergies!! Nobody cares about your made up “environmental sensitivities”, except for your government union compadres.

  7. If they aren’t selling food, I don’t see what the problem is. If you don’t like it, or have allergies, then take your business elsewhere. Simple as that. I have allergies to big dogs, but smaller ones with hair don’t bother me. But you know what? That’s MY problem and I don’t expect the world to change to accommodate me. If we were talking about a hospital or other publicly funded place or even a grocery store, then your bitch would be valid, but a private retail establishment selling non-food items can do whatever the fuck they want.

  9. Still not as bad as the idiots who drive with their animals in their laps. What do you think is going to happen to little Fifi when you hit someone or someone hits you?

  10. The Trail Shop had a long line of ‘shop dogs’, one of that line may be in a trendy shop downtown (just guessing) and is very well behaved and cleaner than most people.

Voice your disapproval to the owner and move on.

  11. If you are going to have a crotch sniffing asslicker in a public space, it should be on a leash that is NOT longer than 2 meters as the HRM bylaws requires. PERIOD.

  12. Boo Hoo – I have allergies, I can’t eat gluten, I don’t like dogs wah wah wah
..quit your bitchin and Go somewhere else then! You are the type of person who wants to keep this city from progressing, make sure we don’t get Uber or be able to sell alcohol at corner stores or have outdoor concerts- Well then just go somewhere else ya big baby!
