So they won to have it removed because it was offensive due to Cornwallis infamous proclamation, never mind nobody mentioned the Mi’kmaq took scalps first. But that’s ancient history. Now will the city council have the guts to remove all statues and references on Remembrance Day to the RCAF who bombed millions of innocent women and children in German cities during the war? Or was that acceptable because the Luftwaffe did it first?  What makes one less palatable than the other? —History Is Brutal

  1. Maybe the Mik’Maw shouldn’t have sided with the French, and if they hadn’t, would the scalping proclamation have been inacted? Lets all start tearing down statues that remind people of their poor decisions, thats the maturity this world needs right now. Lol, what a fucking joke!!!

  2. I want the reference to “God” taken out of the anthem, the statue of PET taken down in Ottawa, cause that fucker was a communist….and the Louis Real statue taken down in Winnipeg, he was a murderous native “hero” that I take offense to. And, while you’re at it, every other fucken statue that has a shady past. Erase it all.

  3. Is there something going on with the Cornwallis statue? Jesus, I hope it’s ok. That’s like my MAIN statue.

  4. Maybe it’s not really about the scalps. Maybe it’s about demonstrating to a group of marginalized people that we, as a society, are listening to them and are working to reconcile past wrongs and work together to build a better future.
