This is gonna make sound like a whiny old lady, but what the fuck is wrong with teenagers now? At my workplace, we’ve hired almost a dozen 16-18 year olds since the beginning of the school year and more than half of them got interviewed, came to orientation, got put on the schedule, and just never showed up. What the fuck? Plenty of people with bills and rent to pay who are willing to work could be taking those jobs instead of these stupid pre-adults who are still living at home with Mommy and Daddy to pay for them. These kids’ parents need to stop shoving them out the door to get a job when they don’t have enough responsibility to look after a goldfish.

The problem began when you thought it was a good idea to hire 16 to 18 year olds. You can’t blame them for your oversight; you are the (experienced adult.
Maybe your job sucks? Perhaps you should pay more and people will show up
Bad parenting.
I have lost count of the number of teenagers I’ve worked with who seem to think all that they have to do at work is just hang out, or do a half-assed job. They never last long, of course, and I can only hope that they will eventually learn through experience that you can’t do that and expect to stay employed. That being said, I have also worked with some teenagers who actually DO work hard and are a credit to their age group.
You guys should read some articles related to Gen Z. It’s quite funny actually but enough information to give an idea of what the future might look like.
