While Burger week is an awesome way to raise funds for Feed Nova Scotia it is also a great way to highlight the shitty, half assed effort of our city’s older, failing restaurants. I was nothing short of disgusted browsing the grey, overexposed photos submitted to the causes website. At least wipe your greasy finger prints off the lens before taking the photo. For those of you raving about your “history” and a loyal clientele – it’s the age of social media, get in the game or move on out – you’re dragging yourself down. —The Burgerbitch

I agree that many of the burger pics are less than appetizing. Food photography is harder than most people realize and those REALLY GOOD pictures are expensive, involving at the least a good photographer and a decent food stylist.
Think of the Big Mac picture you see in adverts and then compare that to what you actually receive in your order, tis a wee bit different.
So the burgers taste better than they look (usually), the proceeds support a good cause and it creates a sense of community so maybe you can check your inner photo critic for the week and go out and experiences the burgers, and life, in real life.
Bon appetite!

Bitching about food photography, so 2017
TOSG, you do understand that in food photography they seldom use real food, they use props. Yes the food in the pictures are fakes made of plastic or wax.
