Something that happened a while back in a neighbourhood near you.

Innocent potential customer enters repair shop, asks a vague question, get a vague answer.. attempts to rephrase the question to be more specific but before being able to finish their sentence gets interrupted with attitude & an eye roll and a parroted response.. potential customer sighs, turns around, walks out of the store and goes to the next bike stop and gives his/her $ to them instead.

Successful businessing 101 dumb dumb…while keeping in mind that “the customer is always right” is obvious BS.. being kind & respectful to the customer (super simple) may = earning $.. being patronizing, probably not.

Losing business because of your ego, what a shame. What a major let-down and a huge turn-off your ego is…You’re so fucking stupid. — Anonomato

  1. So as a result of you not being able to properly articulate what you want/where your problem lies, the shop owner should read your addled mind in an attempt to make $10? Idiot.

  2. I think you misunderstand ticklebutt

There’s a big difference between hearing someone out rather thaninterrupting so you might have a chance to understand and reading minds.. wtf are you even talkin about!?.. your comprehension skills need sharpening it seems

& for the record it woulda been between $100 & 150$ probably

  3. Sport and outdoor businesses seem to be very prone to this sort of problem. If the staff don’t see you as being an “elite” amateur athlete/outdoors-person like themselves they can at times be very dismissive. I experienced bad service twice at a certain shop by two different staff and so shall never return. I don’t expect staff to gush over me but, like the OB, don’t expect dismissiveness either. The boycott is on!

  4. Seriously though, is this really a thing or are people just overly sensitive? By that I mean that cycling is such a fringe sport to begin with, are there really that many ‘elite’ cyclists around town that all of the bike shops selectively cater to them alone and everyone else can pound sand? I think the opposite is true considering that the mom&pop weekend rider outnumbers the racer by 50 to 1, I imagine the self proclaimed ‘star’ cyclist would get the cold shoulder. But as always, individual results may vary.

  5. Yes, TickleMeDumbDumb, I understood your name the 1st time I read it & I thought it was lame so I made a joke, can you comprehend this?

The initial question at the bike shop was vague on purpose.

2nd attempted to be a bit more specific, was interrupted by attitude… so OB left & recently remembered the interaction & wrote a bitch, big deal

What do you “disagree” with exactly? because your comment didn’t mention it.. it sounds to me just a weak response a person with nothing to say says..

Omega/Alpha, Igrok.. special treatment was not expected, simple respect was desired, that’s all, stop being ridiculous

I was attempting to clearer Charlie, did you read the part of the bitch about “interrupting” (basically the main point of the bitch, smh).. btw, I was vague initially intentionally.. & I mentioned that, on purpose

  6. I understand this issue will elite attitudes in a few bike shops in the city. I have experienced first hand, employees being dismissive and completely ignoring me when I ask for assistance. Since I am a girl apparently I don’t take biking serious enough, my male friend who is a bike enthusiast practically gets his feet kissed when he walks into the same stores.

  7. Is that your rebuttal Matthyu? Insulting me? Very clever. Thinking of a career in politics; saying something without saying anything at all?

When you come up with a better argument to my point, I’ll be here.

  8. Yes, that’s my rebuttal Charlie.. you say “be clearer” when the bitch was about attempting to be clearer & being rudely & stupidly (for business) interrupted.. what is difficult here?

“Politics”.. wtf are you taking about!?.. what I said was very clear & easy to understand.. also, can’t stand politricks & politricksters.. so, no thanks, I’m good

“Insulting me”??.. you’re the one who named-called.. how did I insult you?, by pointing out that you missed something??, me no understand you.. your bizarro world logic does not compute, please.try.again (old-school robot voice)

Btw.. Your second paragraph would make perfect sense (if i said it)

    Rock n’ roll man

  9. I had a shop I used to commonly frequent have a newer employee argue with me in a condescending way via telephone, about a bike I had once purchased at their previous location. They told me that there was no way I had bought the bicycle from them, when I had just casually mentioned it when talking about another bike; Telling me over and over how they don’t sell used bikes. I explained that they had once. She kept telling me that they had never, ever once, in their entire history and hung up. Yea, never brought a bike back to there for myself or my kids after that and we had likely dropped a few thousand altogether in that shop over the years.
