It didn’t take very long for the beautification of the new Argyle Street to diminish with all those gross cigarette butts everywhere. Thanks smokers for being obnoxious, uncaring people and ruining the good construction downtown.
PS: I think you should be fined. —Finally Got To See the Street and then This Garbage

I absolutely agree!
Litter is litter and anyone throwing a cig on the ground is littering. It’s also dis-respectful to the city and the people that live there.
When you see someone doing this, tell them to smarten up.
Is there anywhere else to put the butts?

I’m a smoker who also gets really annoyed by seeing butts on the ground. I bought a little ashtray that I carry around in my purse. If I happen to forget it at home, I suck it up, make sure the butt is out and put it in my pocket until I get home.
My mother had a small collection of “purse” ashtrays, for a lack of a better descriptor. They were small, enameled boxes – about 2″ x 1″ x 0.5″ – with a small stick handle. When opened, a lip allowed you to lay your cigarette down on it. They dated back to the early 50’s.
Smokers could use them – or quit. Use Champix; it works. I’m a former pack-a-day (plus) smoker, having quit in 2009. I tried everything from patches to hypnosis to ear lasering to Zyban and all combinations of them and nothing worked until I used Champix.
I still smoke, just not tobacco and only great pot I buy on my vacations to Amsterdam. You think the strains here are good? A. M. S. T. E. R. D. A. M.
