Squash balls come in different speeds to ease you up to Canada Games level.

Before the Games even get here, squash players and fans in Halifax will be buzzing over the Bluenose Squash Classic, taking place at The Tower on February 1 to 6. And if all this squash talk is inspiring you to pick up the game, Squash NS has plenty of club information if you’d like to book some court time or take lessons—for example, Dalplex offers lessons on Monday nights, $65 for members, $75 for non-members. You’re going to need squash balls (start with the fast ones, with blue, red, green or white dots, before moving onto the slower yellow or double yellow) a racquet ($40 to $150 at Cleve’s Source for Sports) and once you move past the lessons, a competitive partner.
