High school sweethearts Kim Vallis and Matt Madden picked a special day for their wedding: the date marks their 10-year anniversary of being together. Vallis, who is employed as a graphic designer for NSCC Online Learning, and Madden, an e-marketing analyst at ISL Web Marketing and Development, are also talented photographers (maddenvallis.com), who work together as a team. The couple loves to travel across Nova Scotia, shooting abandoned buildings and gorgeous landscapes. They also shoot weddings, but after a four-year engagement, it’s Vallis and Madden’s turn to be on the other side of the camera.
Vallis wasn’t expecting the proposal. “Matt surprised me one day in early fall of ’06 by coaxing me into a jewellery store,” which was Charm Diamond Centre. “Once we were in the store browsing for a few minutes he popped the question and told me to pick whatever ring I’d like.” The fall wedding will take place at the Prince George Hotel, surrounded by 100 friends and family.
