I can’t believe I forgot mention this before! When I turned to NBC during one of many commercials on CBC, I was expecting to see some red, white and blue, y’all. But what were they broadcasting, smack in the middle of the opening ceremonies? Regis and Kelly!! Actually, it wasn’t even Reg, it was Kelly and too-good-to-be-true hubby Mark Consuelos. They were spinning a prize wheel or something. But seriously, you care so little about Gambia’s big shot at the Olympics that you’d rather fill time with the most apple cutie-pie daytime talk show host out there? Sad. At least it was better than Ellen, where she was hosting a no-hands giant pizza-eating contest. And yet, according to Andy’s map, the US has won more medals than any other coutnry in the world.
