Okay, if I post this, promise to come back now, hear? medal counts by country going back all the way to 1896. I was working on something similar, but didn’t have time to finish it for the opening day. My animated collage of Olympic mascots: past and present will be posted sometime before the end of these games.

  1. St. Louis in 1904 is interesting because the Americans won ALL the medals. I guess when it takes a month to get from Europe to St. Louis, not a lot of Europeans showed up.
