When I am shopping at Bayers (even though I don’t have a COSTCO card) I pop in for their hot dog and pop for just over $2.50.
Chicken Curry combo @ Taste of India in S. Square. Delicious food, large portion for $5 and change.
the westcliff diner has great burgers and milkshakes, very good prices and fun atmosphere
Although it’s pushing the $7 envelope, the Chicken Teriyaki Bowl @ B-Well Sushi is $6.85 tax in. If you cheap out on the tip it’s an even $7.
Small portion of butter chicken, white rice, raita and chutney for $6.99 at Gracious Indian is great for a quick meal!
Dhaba Express (* Oland Crescent, Bayer’s Lake) has lunch combo specials (large portion of rice, salad, and curry) for $6.99 (Choice of curry: Spinacnh & Lentils; chick peas, Aloo (potato)and $ 7.99 (Choice of butter chicken or chicken curry or beef vindaloo). They also have Mulgitawnry soup (salad and naan) for $7.95.

New Asia Chinese Restaurant (347 Herring Cove Road) has great Chinese food. Lunch specials around $5 include bowl of won ton soup, egg roll, rice and your choice of entree (I am a fan of the sweet and sour pork). Great deal and even better if you take it to go!
Ciboulette on Barrington does a delish breakfast wrap and a coffee for $6.
I agree with the General.
Scotia Square food court is great.
TASTE OF INDIA – Thursday and Friday is buffet. More than you could possibly eat and all just wonderful food. Consistently tasty. Nice folks too!
Can’t beat the $4 vegetarian spicy Taiwanese noodles at the north end of the Seaport Market. My treat every Friday for lunch!
Brunch at The Loose Cannon, Saturday and Sunday from 11-3, $3.99 for a hefty helping of both scrambled eggs (I’d say 3 eggs worth) and hashbrowns, 2 sausages (or bacon), 2 pieces of toast, orange slice, and beans. You also receive 4 mini muffins to start (or at least you used to). Best brunch deal in the city! (Maxwell’s in $2 but you have to buy a beverage).
On Quinpool:
Leicester’s Deli – i think most of the lunches and snacks there are under $7
Bramosa – gourmet slice of pizza and a pop is $5
B Well – cheap noodles and terraki bowls
Nothing beats the $2 Saturday breakfast at Maxwells Plum!!!

Get there at 11 when they open. The service is great and the food is hot.
Cole’s Restaurant (Cole Harbour Road) – Wednesday Night – ALL BURGERS $2.99 with drink purchase. Real meat. Fresh meat. EXCELLENT. Mushroom and Swiss, Montrealer, Fish Burger(pan fried and delicious), Checken Burger, and others! Good sized burger, too. On Friday night try a two piece fish and chips (think old fashioned type batter) for $7.99. Big portions. Good food. Friendly staff. I don’t work for them, but my wife and I eat there whenever we can.
