Break out the Tanqueray and juice and clank those glasses together:
Snoop D-O-double-G’s in the house this Sunday. All of Halifax’s bars
are up for mixing Snoop’s drink, but here are a few close to the Metro
Centre that are perfect for sippin’ on gin and juice before—and
after—the rapper’s return.

Bubbles Mansion

This Trailer Park Boys-inspired bar, owned by Mike Smith (AKA
Bubbles), sells Bombay, Tanqueray and Hendricks as gin
poisons-of-choice to mix with juice. And while drink specials are
normally only sold Thursday and Friday nights, I’m told big concerts
bring in specials on non-special days. Just sayin’.

5287 Prince Street

Cheers Bar & Grill

You can’t really get closer to the Metro Centre than Cheers. This
live music and dancing spot is open until 3:30am Sunday, so you can
drink Snoop’s poison—or any other drink of choice—well after the
concert’s over.

1743 Grafton Street

Halifax Alehouse

This late-night spot carries Bombay for your gin-infused drinks,
with gin and juice, tonic and Singapore slings being the most popular
Bombay mixes.

1717 Brunswick Street

Peddler’s Pub

Peddler’s house gin is Aristocrat, while Bombay is also sold. You’ll
have to hit this spot before the concert, though, as it’s only open
until 8pm Sundays (the slowest night of the week). The bartender
estimates he sells 5:1 gin and tonic to gin and juice, but there might
be hope for a swing in the numbers on Sunday.

  1. Another performer comes to town, another article on where to get your convenient drink on before or after … really, have we become that predictable?

  2. I was subtly trying to suggest we don’t need articles such as this. Kinda redundant. ‘Hmm, I went to a show in the downtown core, when can I go to drink? Oh yeah, everywhere.’
