The Fringe Festival descends this week, and while the plays you choose to see can be a coin’s toss away from confusing or brilliant there’s no need to take chances with your meal and drink choices. Keep yourself well-fed by checking out one of these four places, all surrounding the festival’s venues. –Holly Gordon
The Company House
Across the street from The Bus Stop Theatre, the CoHo is a late-afternoon spot for drinks and appetizers. Happy hour’s 4-7pm and apps include samosas, pastrami with havarti cheese paninis, a Mediterranean plate and more. It’s open late all week (midnight), to 1am Thursday, 2am on the weekend, closed Sundays.

AlteregosÂ
This licensed cafe next to The Bus Stop has summer hours from 8am-10pm, every day. Get your choice of Keith’s, Propeller, Heineken or house wine, and pair it with the cafe’s much-loved Altereggo—an egg breakfast sandwich—or samosas with chutney. Sit outside on the patio, or steal the coveted window seat inside.

George & Lito’s
Located just a block west from Plutonium Playhouse, this air-conditioned restaurant boasts dishes that include calamari, gourmet burgers and fresh pasta, while the bar’s open to serve Propeller draught and a choice of Garrison. Also included: a lovely patio.

Morris East
Just up the street from the Khyber, Morris East offers you a daily happy hour from 5-6pm—which gives you the house red and white or a beer for five bucks—and delicious woodfire oven pizza. Just be careful not to go between 2:30-5pm, or Mondays—it’s closed.Â
