Photographer and food stylist kellyneil.com

In just over five years, Kelly Neil has come out of seemingly nowhere to become one of Nova Scotia’s favourite food photographers. “I am fuelled by learning,” she says. “I don’t have any formal training and every time I pick up my camera, set up lights, move a piece of pasta with tweezers, I learn something new. I’m a total work in progress and I love that.”

Neil was behind the lens on Elizabeth Bailey’s cookbook Maritime Fresh and has taken photos for everyone from Brooklyn Warehouse and Le French Fix to PR agencies in Toronto. “I get to use my imagination, take pictures and eat. What’s not to like about that?”
