At first the emo-themed Spider-Man 2 soundtrack—Dashboard Confessional, Taking Back Sunday, Yellowcard—seems odd. But stop and think about it and it makes complete sense. Peter Parker isn’t exactly a Henry Rollins type; love, life and work are consistently pushed to the back burner in favour of Spidey’s superhero duties. The choice to saturate this soundtrack with emo is ingenious, reflecting the pain and angst that Parker must endure while living his life on the sidelines.
