The fourth annual VANS in The Hub exhibit features six Visual Arts Nova Scotia members’ photographs, textiles and drawings. “It’s really focused on the passage of time and kind of transient experiences,” says Becky Welter-Nolan, the programming coordinator at VANS. “Chris Brobeck’s drawings are life drawings and they try to capure a specific moment in time. Therese Bombardier’s photographs are current photographs of Halifax streets, superimposed with turn of the century people on bicycles.” The show adorns the halls and walls of The Hub, which rents office and meeting space. “It’s a really great synchronicity between our professional artists who are trying to gain more exposure in their practice in a space that helps other professionals trying to further their professional development,” says Welter-Nolan. “It’s a really nice synergy.” —Tara Thorne
