Anyone still wondering what all the buzz about garage rock is lately
needs look no further than this record. After releasing a series of EPs
and CD-Rs in its hometown of Detroit, Tyvek has built up a solid fan
base across North America and Europe before its first full-length came
out. This self-titled effort does not disappoint. From slower, fuzzier
tracks to the blurred fast pace of songs like “Frustration Rock,” to
the two edits of “Building Burning” starting slow on one side of the
record, then building up to the anxious, speedier version on the other,
Tyvek captures everything that’s exciting about garage rock right now.
