The Halifax Jazz Festival, in partnership with Sonic Concerts, just announced the fourth headliner for its 30th anniversary celebration: Toronto pop-quartet Metric will play Halifax once again, like it’s 2006. Except it’ll be Wednesday, July 13, 2016. The band joins the legendary Ms. Lauryn Hill, the T.Dot singer Basia Bulat and Ontario rockers City and Colour as headliners.

The poppers, fronted by Emily Haines, released their sixth studio album last September, Pagans in Vegas, after a decade of Polaris Prize and Juno nominations and awards. Metric is, without a doubt, one of Canada’s most popular pop bands, and they recently announced that one dollar from every ticket sold on tour in 2016 would go to the David Suzuki Foundation. Cool, dudes.

Pre-sale tickets ($55) are on sale tomorrow at 10am, with the general sale on Friday morning.
