I wager that Daniel MacIvor needs twenty hours of sleep to recover from each 90-minute performance Of This Is What Happens Next. He’s an actor that leaves nothing in the tank, a full-out, full-on force of nature. What Happens Next is a one man-show was never supposed to happen. MacIvor gave up this type of theatre several years ago and settled into a different sort of creative existence. But life is filled with unexpected twists and turns, that in this case lead to a creation of a play that is filled with truth and truths, though not strictly factual. MacIvor embodies several characters including an angry divorced man on the road to self-awareness, a horny, domineering middle-aged woman and a charming seven-year-old. The story is a roller-coaster of connections and emotions, and is a ride that is well worth taking.
