Oh, Collins! What a clown!
Sadly, I can only think of one individual who will be genuinely excited by this news, but share it I must. Get your motherfucking prog hat on, because on Friday, May 1, The Musical Box presents A Trick of the Tail at the Halifax Metro Centre. What on God’s green earth am I prattling on about? Why, it’s only a high quality re-creation of Genesis‘ shows at the time of Peter Gabriel. The 1976 A Trick of the Tail tour had the band showcasing the velvet pipes of a Mr. Phil Collins (you might know him from a stellar radio appearance on This American Life). The Musical Box intends to recreate A Trick of the Tail in painstaking detail including original slides, films, laser effects (as this tour had Genesis pioneering the first ever stage laser. Pitchoo!), special effects and original 1976 song list. April 21 – CANCELLED
The Gillett Entertainment Group claims that “due to illness within the band” the show is a no go. I don’t believe tham and suspect that poor ticket sales are the real reason for the cancellation but, alas, we’ve no way to know for certain. What shame because even the members of Genesis (incuding PG and PC) claim that this band is as good or better than Genesis was in the day.
I blame ol’ George and his Liverpool refinancing, personally.
