After a short break for supper, I walked over to St. Matthew’s United Church, once again accompanied by my Mom. I bought her the second-last ticket to the show, so thanks to whoever waited longer than me to buy tickets!
The Halifax Pop Explosion relies heavily on its volunteers to make sure the shows run smoothly. I’ve volunteered for the festival on and off over the years, but I’ve never taken the job of taking tickets at the door. I’d be too afraid of actually missing a show I wanted to see. What kind souls these people must be, and particular patient too, judging by the number of less-than-cordial drunken patrons they encounter at some shows. Not the St. Matthew’s shows, I would hope.
