p>Shortly after finishing their album last year, Creeps frontman
Skottie Lobotomy was dwelling on the idea of a “dystopian future world”
and wrote several songs which the band decided to record immediately
and release on an EP. The result is less of The Creeps’ typical
stab-happy lyrics, but more of a punk record that seems to echo in
volatile political and economic times, especially the resounding “Are
we getting by? Sure, I guess we’re getting by, but are we getting by?”
of opener “On and On.” The songwriting and production are tight. It’s a
neat little detour for the band and this sense of foreboding feels all
too premonitory.
