“Uh-huh, oh yeah!” and what sounds like a recorder solo. So begins
The Bicycles’ second album, Oh No, It’s Love. The songs are just
as short, poppy and danceable as 2006’s The Good, The Bad and The
Cuddly, but luckily it didn’t take the Toronto foursome as long to
make this album (fans waited five years for their first). Hyper cousins
of Halifax’s Pinecones, The Bicycles have an appreciation for cheeky
romance and ’60s music. This album includes 19 short songs, including
“I’ll Wait for You” and “What a Fool,” with Laura Barrett, Basia Bulat,
Bob Egan and more. It’s a concept album about love full of noise and
lovely little surprises.
