It’s the eighth year for Halifax’s Fetish Ball, a safe space for the boundary-bending and kink-curious to be teased, learn a sexual lesson or two and dance the night away. The annual event kicks off with a stage show, with the always feisty and fabulous local pro-domme Miss Jaded hosting a lineup that includes burlesque temptresses from Novel Tease and for the BDSM-curious, a rope suspension performance, rope dancing and vacuum bed demonstrations. Once you’re hot and bothered the party begins with a DJ, cash bar and prizes for best costumes. Kale Deal, one of the event’s organizers, says the Fetish Ball doesn’t just promote having a damn good time, but safe play in the community as well. Funds raised will support a handful of important, non-profit organizations like Halifax Sexual Health and the Society of Bastet, a local alternative lifestyles organization.
