There hasn’t been a band in the Maritime punk scene since FYM that
worships skateboarding as much as Road Rash. Their demo, released
earlier this year and sold out of an old pizza box, could and should be
the soundtrack to the movie Thrashin’.

Made up of Dartmouth inhabitants Bobby Swagger, C-Wilk, Peter Van
Shmansen and ringleader Cody Fresh, Road Rash exude positivity, a
serious love for skateboarding and The Goonies. In fact, their
demo features unforgettable artwork of a skateboarding Sloth (from the
1985 classic movie).

It’s hard to dislike any band that responds to the question, “What’s
your favourite Goonies scene?” with this: “At the beginning
where Chunk looks out the window at the car chase and spills his
milkshake on himself and yells, ‘AWW, SHIT!’ That’s a rad part.”

Like a Dartmouth version of the Thrashin’ LA skate gang The
Daggers, Road Rash cite crustaches and EXCO clothing as the bane of
their existence.
