The long-running Resident Evil series has had its ups and downs over the years, as it hovers on the line between survival-horror and action-adventure. The latest entry continues this awkward, yet enjoyable, trend. Revelations plays and looks like a console game, a pretty solid feat for the 3DS hardware. The controls do leave a little to be desired, unless you’re one of the few people who have a circle pad pro attachment. The campaign is fairly long, especially for a handheld game, but you’ll be revisiting the same locations frequently. The storyline is extremely convoluted and hard to follow, rather than focusing on zombies and scares, the game gets you wrapped up in conspiracies involving various shady organizations and agencies, it’s just not that interesting unless you are a diehard fan of the franchise. Overall, Revelations is a solid action/horror adventure that isn’t perfect but still worth the price of admission.
