The horrors of combat are all too real when brave North Korean heroes fend off savage insurgents in what is I assume a documentary entitled Red Dawn. Initially expecting to be greeted as liberators upon occupying American soil and freeing its people from their failed capitalist exploitation, the North Korean army (altered in post from the Chinese to give the United States a realistic chance) are instead beset by cowardly acts of brutal terrorism created by the local high school football team and Chris Hemsworth. Typical of Hollywood liberalism, the movie would have us sympathize with these “wolverines” as they butcher innocent soldiers with their guerrilla tactics. Ideological blunders aside, Red Dawn stands as a moving, powerful tribute to the brave sacrifices being made in this never ending battle against sexy, young action stars.
