Any movie directed by Iron Giant/The Incredibles helmer Brad Bird, made by Pixar, and featuring comedian Patton Oswalt as a culinarily gifted rat earns its way into my good books by virtue of pedigree alone. But it’s Ratatouille’s weird ending that makes the film great: a surreal sequence that raises interesting questions about the role of critics, the nature of greatness and how many rats it takes to tie up a health inspector.
